HD Videos Now Available on WhatsApp

Hello Techies. Now similar to the HD Photos option, whatsapp will now allow users send HD videos.  feature has been rolled to all ios, android and web users. At the first stage of initial launch, this product might not be available to all users yet but will be seen gradually in the up-coming weeks.

Now, this post is all about how you can send HD Videos, things to keep in mind and other important things you need to know concerning this new feature.

HD icon now available for videos

Just like the new HD icon, users will see an “HD” icon at the top while sharing videos in chats once the feature is available.

HD videos means 720p, not 1080p

HD video sharing on WhatsApp is capped at 720p resolution. This means, all the videos irrespective of their native resolution will be compressed to 1280x720 pixels resolution while sharing.

It’s almost twice the size of regular videos

Regular videos on WhatsApp while sharing is 480p which is almost half the resolution of the HD videos that are now available on WhatsApp for sharing.

HD videos do not work for native camera

Unlike the HD photos which work with the native camera, HD videos are now available for videos recorded using WhatsApp’s native camera. This means the option is only available for videos recorded using the phone's native camera app or other apps that can record HD videos.

Supports up to 100 videos at a time

With HD videos, WhatsApp hasn’t changed the maximum sharing limit. 

The maximum limit is 100 and it applies to HD videos as well. 

Users need to enable HD videos once in case of multiple videos

WhatsApp has made it easier for users to enable the HD option while sharing multiple videos. 

Users only need to enable the HD toggle once and it applies to all selected videos automatically.

HD videos are available only for videos with higher resolution

It is important to note that the HD option will only be available for videos with a native resolution of more than 720p. Meaning, if a video does not have HD resolution, then the “HD” toggle will be greyed out. 

What about slow connection

On slow connections, recipients will be able to choose to keep either the standard quality version or upgrade to HD. 

Steps to follow: Enable HD option

From the preview section, look for the HD toggle at the top of the screen. Tap on it to enable HD video sharing. Note, that you only have to enable the toggle once and it will be applied for all the photos that you’ve selected.

How To Reset Windows 7 User Password (Without Format | 2023 Updated Method)

Welcome Reader. • Look for another file named cmd and make a duplicate of it

• Rename the copy of the cmd to "sethc" without quotes,

Note: the file sethc is that the file responsible for enabling sticky keys by touch the shift key continuously 5 times. With what we've done touch the shift keys 5 times can launch the command prompt interface.

• Now restart the computer

• On reaching the login page

• Hit the shift key 5 times to launch the command prompt

• Now type "Net User" without quotes and hit enter,

You will see the list of all the users

Note: the user you wish to bypass its password if there's more than one user and therefore the user ought to be associated with the admin account .

Now type "net user (username) *" without quotes and press enter, just as in the image below

You will be needed to type in a password or prefer to leave it blank to get rid of the password entirely
Confirm password and hit enter.

Close the command prompt and log in.

The was announced after the discovery of harmless-looking image files that have been known to habour malicious codes that could grant hackers remote access into an Android smartphone system.

In Google's Android Security Update for February 2019, Google has listed three critical security vulnerabilities in the ways an Android operating system handles .PNG (Portable Network Graphic) files.

According to the news, a maliciously-crafted PNG image file could execute code on vulnerable Android devices thereby hacking into the smartphone and granting access to a remote attacker.

The newly-discovered flaws affect millions of devices running versions of the Android operating system from Android 7.0 Nougat to the latest Android 9.0 Pie versions and an attack could be activated by tricking a user into viewing a boobytrapped PNG image sent via email or any messaging app.


This isn’t actually the first time an Android operating system has been found sorely lacking when it comes to handling boobytrapped files. In the 2015, the Stagefright bug made worldwide headlines after it was disclosed that hackers could simply send a maliciously-crafted multimedia message to an Android phone, and gain access to its data and even its camera.

More detailed information on the latest PNG-related flaws will be posted on this very site (NaijTecho) in the days to come, but my advice to Android phone users is that don’t delay to patch up your Android phone as soon as a security update is available for your device.

But the big question is this? “What if a security update is not available.”

Whether you will receive a security update for your Android smartphone rests in the hands of your device manufacturers, and their keenness to roll out security patches.

Users of smartphones manufactured by the likes of Google, LG, or Samsung more likely to get an update within a short period of time than if you purchased a device from a less-popular manufacturer.

If you haven’t received an update yet from your manufacturer/carrier then it’s time to start the looking elsewhere.

Send HD Photos Now Available on Whatsapp

Good Day Techies, as we all know it, The Facebook-owned messaging social app called whatsapp typically compresses photos to reduce storage needs and increase better file transfer speeds/rate.

From this new update, users can now choose to share high-definition images from their device’s gallery by tapping the corresponding "HD" button at the top of the caption screen before sending the image.

“A lot of people have requested this! Now you can share your photos in HD”

For the HD option, Users can choose between normal quality (1600 x 1052), which uses less memory and sends data faster, or HD quality (4096 x 2692) which send the image with it's original quality.

Both the sender and the receiver will be able to see the HD icon if you do this. Recipients will have the option to upgrade to HD or keep the basic quality version on slow connections. In addition, senders will continue to set standard-quality transmissions by default, delaying the inevitable need to free up storage space on your phone after receiving too many photos in a conversation. group story etc.

WhatsApp Rolling out Create Groups Without Names

WhatsApp Inc, a major platform for instant messaging, has released a new feature that lets users create chat groups on the platform without giving them group names.

Even if users need to quickly start a group or have not yet chosen a topic, the feature will assist them in doing so easily.

But unlike the normal WhatsApp group, which admits up to 1,024 members, the messaging service revealed that an unidentified group will have a maximum of six members.

According to the firm, these groups’ names will change based on the members who are added to them.

“Making it simpler to start WhatsApp groups by naming them based on who’s in the chat when you don’t feel like coming up with another name,” Zuckerberg stated.

After the modification, selecting a unique group name will no longer be required; WhatsApp will instead create one based on the names of the participants.

Each participant’s group name will display differently based on how they have their contacts saved on their phone. According to the app, if you join a group with members who haven’t saved their contacts, the group name will include your phone number.

Because these groups can only contain a maximum of six people, the function is designed for smaller gatherings of friends, family, or coworkers.

The feature is rolling out already, you can update your WhatsApp to check if the feature is live for your device.

Edit Your Messages on WhatsApp After You Sending Now Available

Hello Techie. Over the past weeks , i think some new WhatsApp features should have been rolled out to users and yet another new update has been rolled out to the WhatsApp platform. Some of these new updates are already available on Facebook messaging platform, and telegram but WhatsApp choose to add it anyway. We talked about it a few weeks back but it is now officially available on the WhatsApp platform. The company has finally added a feature that allows users edit sent messages. You’ll be able to edit messages up to 15 minutes after they’re sent. It will only show ‘edited’ for the messages that are edited, and the recipient won’t see the old message. Isn't that a cool "ting"?

WhatsApp also said that editing a message won’t send a new chat notification to people in your chat. The option is only available for messages and doesn’t let you edit photos, videos, or other types of media or captions.

How to Edit a Message on WhatsApp Platform

• Long press the message you want to edit, then tap More options on Android / just tap Edit after long press on iPhone / Hover over the message you want to edit, then click Menu > Edit message on Web or desktop
• Select Edit and update your message.
• When you’re finished, tap the check mark to update your message.
